Xavier Ortega: Academic Recognition Award

Xavier Ortega Aramburu, founder and Director of the Institute of Energy Tecnologies for more than 25 years, has been awarded at the ‘Day of the Engineer’ organised by the Association of Industrial Engineers of Catalonia (AEIC), an event that took place on June 13

Professor at the UPC in the area of nuclear engineering and graduate in physical sciences from the University of Barcelona, Xavier is an engineer in atomic engineering and doctor engineer from the Polytechnique Institute of Grenoble, and also an industrial engineer and doctor from the UPC.

Xavier received the prestigious "Academic Recognition Award" for his professional career dedicated to teaching and for his academic merits in the field of energy and nuclear energy. He has dedicated more than 40 years to the training and preparation of future engineers, as well as to the promotion of research and technology transfer in the field of energy and nuclear engineering.

Jordi Renom, president of the AEIC, pointed out that "only by staying true to the values that have made us what we are now, and taking as reference the award-winners and referents such as Pompeu Fabra or Xavier Ortega, we will be able to achieve our goals". The president of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Quim Torra, closed the event.
