New project: "SImultaneous NEutRon and prompt Gamma-raY imaging system for in-vivo diagnosis in Hadron-Therapy (SINERGY4HT)

The Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities has made public the results of the call for Projects I + D + i "Proofs of Concept" 2021. In this call, it has been granted the proposal: "SImultaneous NEutRon and prompt Gamma-raY imaging system for in-vivo diagnosis in Hadron-Therapy (SINERGY4HT)"

The Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities has made public the results of the call for Projects I + D + i  "Proofs of Concept" 2021. In this call, it has been granted the proposal:
"SImultaneous NEutRon and prompt Gamma-raY imaging system for in-vivo diagnosis in Hadron-Therapy (SINERGY4HT)"
This is a coordinated project between researchers from INTE (F. Calviño, A. De Blas and A. Tarifeño-Saldivia) and researchers from IFIC in Valencia.
This proposal is part of the LINrem project, led by INTE researchers since 2018, whose goal is the development of innovative neutron dosimeters for a wide range of applications. Moreover, the IFIC group has developed a prototype of a compact total energy detector with Compton imaging capabilities (i-TED). The "Proof of Concept" grant will allow progress towards a TRL7 development for neutron dosimeters with application to proton therapy. Likewise, it will allow exploring the integration of LINrem and i-TED technology for the development of a hybrid system with gamma imaging capabilities and neutron detection in proton therapy.
