NEW PAPER OF THE GCM GROUP IN THE JOURNAL OF MATERIALS RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGY.

New paper on the Influence of magnetic field heat treatment on the microstructures and coercivity in ferromagnetic amorphous alloys

The researchers of the INTE, Pere Bruna and Daniel Crespo, members of the GCM research group, have
recently published a new paper in open access in the Journal of Materials Research and Technology (IF of
6.267, Q1 in the Metallurgy & Metallurgical Engineering category). The paper entitled "Influence of
magnetic field heat treatment on the microstructures and coercivity in ferromagnetic amorphous alloys"
studies how the presence of a magnetic field during an annealing treatment on Fe-containing alloys can
significantly change the coercivity and the microstructure of these alloys. The INTE researchers
contributed with the use of Mössbauer Spectroscopy, a very special technique that allows the
characterization of the local chemical and topological environment surrounding the Fe atoms. The
obtained results would help in the design of new materials and treatments for electronic applications
where energy saving is a key parameter.
