Infoday on NORM Industries

The Institute of Energy Tecnologies (INTE), in collaboration with the Spanish Society of Radiological Protection (SEPR), the Center for Energy, Environmental and Technological Research (CIEMAT), ENRESA and the Nuclear Safety Council (CSN), will be organising an important event on July 19.

This infoday will focus on the problems associated with industries that can generate an increase in exposure to people due to natural radioactivity. These are called NORM Industries, and are clearly defined in the national legislation.

This event will share basic information with the main stakeholders involved, i.e., NORM companies, local administrations and UTPRs. Practical aspects of the NORM industries will be shown, such as what is the current and future legislation, where the main problems of each industry are located, how the evaluations should be carried out, and what codes are recommended, among other topics of interest. In addition to this, there will be a round table to answer any questions raised by the audience.

The event, with a duration of 8 hours (including food, discussions and case studies) will count with the presence of speakers of renowned prestige in the field. More information:
