Seminar Susana Vaquero

On Thursday 20th of December, Susana Vaquero, who joined INTE recently as project manager, presented the main funding opportunities within Horizon 2020 for collaborative projects during the seminar “Collaborative projects in Horizon 2020 and beyond: the potential role of INTE”
Horizon 2020 (H2020) is the eighth EU´s Funding Programme for research and innovation for the period 2014-2020 with a Budget of nearly EUR 80 billion. Susana explained Horizon 2020 structure and the main type of collaborative projects focusing on the subprograms of interest for INTE: Future Emerging Technologies Open (FET Open), Leadership in enabling and industrial technologies (LEIT), Clean energy (societal challengue 3), Green transport (Societal challegue 4) and Euratom. The caractheristics and differences of these subprograms was explained together with some examples of successful projects.
Finally, Susana provided a small overview on the next EU´s funding programme for the next 7 years in research and innovation that will follow H2020: Horizon Europe.
Susana Vaquero
Susana Vaquero holds a PhD in Energy and fuels for the future from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. After her PhD studies, she joined the Centre for Nanoscience and Technology in Milan. After this period, she carried out a Master in European Project Planning and Management. From 2017, she has been involved in both the preparation of European proposals and the management of big European projects. Recently, she has joined INTE to work as research project manager.
